China, Colombia, and Japan were the top export destinations.
In 2022, China, Colombia, Japan, and South Korea were the primary destinations for Coexca S.A.'s international product shipments, according to the company's official figures. Together, these four markets accounted for 95% of the company's exports. China was at the forefront, making up 45.7% of the total exports, followed by Colombia with 20%. Japan and South Korea each accounted for 14.9%. Exports from Coexca S.A. and its subsidiaries made up 46.14% of the sales from January to December 2022, while domestic sales accounted for 53.86%. The reported lower percentage of international shipments is attributed to several factors, including a reduction in the shipments of pork cuts and by-products. Additionally, a decrease in average prices, especially in sales to the Chinese market, which is a key export destination and which implemented extraordinary measures in response to the Coronavirus health crisis. Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the cost of maritime freight, which rose by more than 70%.
