World’s Best Fillet Steak award won by ABP at World Steak Challenge
At the 2018 World Steak Challenge held in London on July 4th, ABP emerged as a standout victor, securing a total of 29 awards. This prestigious annual event attracts beef producers from around the world, competing for recognition within the industry. ABP distinguished itself amidst fierce international competition, claiming the most awards of any participating company that evening. Their impressive haul included six gold, nine silver, and 14 bronze awards across various categories. Notably, ABP Poland received top honors for the World’s Best Fillet Steak, a follow-up to their previous year's triumph as winners of the World’s Best Steak. These accolades serve as a testament to the effectiveness of ABP's Ultra Tender Process. This achievement comes on the heels of ABP's recent accolades at the Superior Taste Awards hosted by the International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels. Dave O’Connell, the European Commercial Director for ABP Food Group, expressed his delight over the 29 awards, highlighting that 15 of these were awarded to ABP Ireland. He praised the Ultra Tender Process and acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the teams in Ireland and Poland. These awards further solidify ABP's status as a leading beef processor in the EU. The World Steak Challenge provides an opportunity for top steak producers worldwide to measure their products against peers, promoting the consumption of steak as part of a balanced diet. The judging panel, comprising renowned chefs, butchers, and food writers from the UK, Europe, and Australia, evaluates the products in both their raw and cooked states based on a set of international standards.
