Thai Union Introduces UniQ™DHA Product Line

BANGKOK – April 22, 2021 - Thai Union Ingredients (TUI) has unveiled its latest product line, UniQ™DHA tuna oil, furthering the commitment of its parent company, Thai Union Group PCL, to Health Living, Healthy Oceans. This launch builds upon the successful introduction of the UniQ™BONE product earlier in January. The UniQ™DHA range includes two variants: UniQ™DHA crude oil and UniQ™DHA refined oil. The crude oil variant is crafted from carefully selected raw materials through a gentle extraction method, yielding the market's purest and highest-quality crude oil with an impressive DHA content of 28% to 30%. The refined oil variant, derived from the crude oil, boasts DHA levels comparable to those in fresh fish. TUI's innovative manufacturing process for these products not only requires less fish and fewer chemicals but also consumes less energy and generates less waste, contributing significantly to environmental preservation. The refined UniQ™DHA oil is produced at TUI’s state-of-the-art facility in Rostock, Germany. This plant is outfitted with the latest processing technologies to meet the rigorous standards necessary for producing top-quality products, including Omega-3 oils for infant products. Situated in Rostock, Germany, the facility is a key component of TUI’s comprehensive supply chain for tuna oil, processing crude, white tuna oil sourced from Thai Union's facilities in the Seychelles, Ghana, and Thailand. This integrated supply chain ensures complete traceability, allowing customers to be fully assured of the oil's origin and manufacturing process. The advanced capabilities of the Rostock plant enable TUI to venture into other areas of Omega-3 production, including contract and toll manufacturing, aligning with TUI’s strategy to utilize all co-products from tuna processing to offer nutritious ingredients for consumers worldwide.
