Songkla Canning has been rebranded as i-Tail Corporation, which now serves as the dedicated entity for all pet-related activities under Thai Union.
BANGKOK – On September 2, 2021, Songkla Canning Public Company Limited (SCC), a subsidiary of Thai Union Group, unveiled its transformation into i-Tail Corporation Public Company Limited (ITC), marking its new role as the dedicated entity for Thai Union’s pet care ventures. This rebranding and strategic shift, effective immediately, signifies the company's transition from its original focus. Thiraphong Chansiri, CEO of Thai Union Group, highlighted the evolution of i-Tail Corporation as a testament to the robust growth of the company's PetCare division. He pointed out the significant role this sector has played, especially in light of the increased time pet owners are spending at home with their pets due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as reflected in the company's strong performance in the second quarter. With this change, the former SCC (now ITC) facility is set to specialize in pet food production, while the production of food for human consumption will be relocated to other facilities within the Thai Union network. This move is part of a broader strategy to bolster the PetCare division's future growth through innovation and nutritional enhancements in its product offerings. The Global PetCare Innovation (GPCI) and Global Innovation Centre (GIC) are at the forefront of this initiative, focusing on the development and validation of innovative solutions aimed at improving the health and longevity of pets.
