Innovation and sustainability
Olleco was awarded the Best Energy from Waste Initiative at the MRW Awards and the Best Food and Drink Industry AD project at the ADBA Awards, as well as being highly recommended for the ADBA Innovation in Food Waste Award. This flurry of award wins follows a successful year for Olleco, which includes multiple award wins for the launch of its innovative and sustainable Liverpool recycling centre.
The awards
Established in 2012, the UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards (ADBA) aim to showcase the achievements and innovation across the AD industry and rewarded the ‘best of the best’ in their class, raising the profile and benefits of the industry in the process. The MRW Recycling awards recognise excellence in all parts of the waste hierarchy and in all sections of the industry, with the Best Energy from Waste Initiative award seeking to reward companies that demonstrate innovation and environmental benefit in recovering energy from what might previously have been seen as residual waste destined for landfill. Adam Baisley, Commercial Director at Olleco, commented:
Last night was a huge success for us and we are absolutely ecstatic to have won these awards. Having recently been awarded the Waste category in this year’s Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, having another two accolades to add to the list is just fantastic. We entered these awards not just for the sustainable achievements of our own site or business, but also for the results delivered to our customers up and down the country.
