Official Statement Providing Covid-19 Information

1. INITIAL DETAILS In light of the ongoing global health crisis, we believe it is crucial to act with prudence and common sense. Therefore, we have waited until we have obtained trustworthy information to issue a formal and transparent statement based on precise and accurate data about Litera Meat. Firstly, it is important to clarify the purpose of rapid serologic testing and how the results should be interpreted. Serology-based tests, which have been conducted by Public Health authorities at our company, are blood tests used to determine if an individual has been exposed to a specific pathogen by examining their immune response. A positive result indicates the detection of antibodies for a certain pathogen, but it does not signify the presence of the virus itself. This means that these tests determine whether the employee has produced antibodies, or in other words, whether they have developed a defense against the virus. It is clear that to develop antibodies, a person must have been exposed to the virus, but this does not necessarily mean they are currently infected and can spread the virus, nor that they have developed the related disease in its severe form. Instead, they may have experienced a mild set of symptoms related to the disease or they may even be asymptomatic, as confirmed by the tests conducted. Therefore, it is not appropriate to alarm the public by discussing positive cases without first explaining in detail that a positive result in a serologic test does not necessarily mean that a person is currently infected and/or can directly transmit the virus. To definitively determine whether a person is a carrier of the virus, a second test called PCR is required. If the PCR test is negative, it means that the person has recovered from the disease and is no longer infectious, posing no risk to others. If the result is positive, it means that the person is still infected and could potentially spread the infection within their environment. 2. TESTING CONDUCTED As of May 1, 2020, 931 rapid serology-based tests have been conducted at Litera Meat, with 22% of cases testing positive, i.e. carriers of antibodies to the virus (defenses). Since April 25, the occupational risk prevention services Más Prevención have been working with Litera Meat to perform the aforementioned PCR tests on employees who tested positive in the serologic tests (most of whom are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms) to accurately diagnose the current situation. We have received the test results of 105 employees and only 11 are confirmed to be positive for COVID-19. If this trend continues, after receiving the final results soon, we may have approximately 20 positive cases out of 931 employees tested. All updates on the remaining results will be communicated daily by the General Management of Litera Meat. Based on the results obtained, the management team of Litera Meat poses a question: Are the results obtained in the recent tests significantly different from the global data on COVID-19? Litera Meat will continue to conduct serology-based and/or PCR tests to accurately diagnose the status of its employees regarding the coronavirus and maintain control of the situation at all times. 3. BIOSECURITY MEASURES The management team at Litera Meat works daily to maintain and enhance its contingency plan in the midst of the current health crisis, cooperating with and demonstrating complete transparency to the Public Health Department of the Government of Aragón and all other public entities involved. As part of Litera Meat’s contingency plan, the following measures have been added to the already implemented security and protection measures: Nebulization disinfection in all facilities and outbuildings using a broad-spectrum virucidal agent. This was carried out during Easter week, specifically on April 10 and 11, and will be repeated periodically in the most sensitive areas. The operation of 15 additional buses to facilitate transportation and prevent potential crowding. A 50% increase in internal security personnel to properly control access points and ensure employees maintain a safe distance. In collaboration with Más Prevención, a doctor and a nurse have been added to Litera Meat’s medical center to assist employees who may experience symptoms and to conduct diagnostic tests. In addition to surgical masks and gloves (approximately 3,500 units are distributed daily), FFP2 face masks have been purchased for employees who may be at a higher risk of infection due to increased exposure to hazardous situations. Additional face shields and safety glasses have been purchased for personnel who may require them. All these investments in additional diagnostic tests and the aforementioned operations and materials to ensure greater safety and protection of employees have been made by the Company. 4. LITERA MEAT DENIES ANY DISMISSALS DUE TO COVID-19 INFECTIONS Through this official statement, Litera Meat refutes any claims of unjust dismissals related to COVID-19. The reasons why certain former workers are no longer part of Litera Meat’s staff
