New Senior Role Filled at Northeast Nutrition Scotland

Northeast Nutrition Scotland is thrilled to declare the appointment of Gavin Ross as the new Plant Manager at Invergordon Feed Mill. Chris Bryden, the General Manager at Invergordon Feed Mill, expressed his excitement about bringing Gavin, with his high-quality experience and skills, on board. Gavin's extensive background in manufacturing operations, his expertise in change management and continuous improvement, along with his engineering skills, make him the perfect candidate for this position. His diverse experience will be invaluable as the company aims to expand its footprint in the aquaculture feed industry. The company also extends its gratitude to the outgoing Plant Manager, Michael Henderson, for his significant contributions in reviving the mill's operations and wishes him success in his future endeavors. Gavin Ross is a seasoned engineering manager, who most recently served as the Maintenance Manager at SGL Carbon, a global frontrunner in graphite and composite materials, at their Muir of Ord location. Before that, he held the position of Senior Engineering Manager for Johnson and Johnson, overseeing Medical Device manufacturing sites globally. Gavin is a strong advocate for training and development and has successfully led the Lifescan Scotland Engineering Apprenticeship program for eight years. Gavin is a BEng (Hons) and MSc in Supply Chain and Operations Management holder. He is also a member of the Board of Management of Inverness College UHI and heads the college's finance and general purposes committee. Gavin Ross expressed his enthusiasm about joining Northeast Nutrition Scotland during this pivotal period for the company. He is eager to lead the production team at Invergordon, exceed customer expectations with high-quality, nutritious feed, and contribute to the future growth of the production pipeline. Invergordon Feed Mill, acquired by Cooke in September 2019, resumed production in January 2020. Operating under the Northeast Nutrition Scotland brand, the mill uses MSC sustainably sourced fishery products, which bear the Marine Stewardship Council's distinctive blue checkmark, indicating their origin from a healthy, sustainable fishery. MSC certified fisheries are globally recognized as some of the best managed. The mill has earned Label Rouge and Organic certifications and has the capacity to produce feed for both seawater and freshwater sites across three production lines. The mill will provide feed to Cooke Aquaculture Scotland's salmon farms in Orkney and Shetland and aims to explore new supply chain opportunities within the UK and the global aquaculture sector.
