Cooke Aquaculture Scotland Supports Local Shinty Club

Cooke Aquaculture Scotland is thrilled to declare its sponsorship of the Col-Glen Shinty Club. This financial support will ensure the club's ongoing viability within the community. Following the team's promotion to the senior leagues, the funds will help cover travel costs for matches across Scotland in 2024. The Cooke Community Benefit Fund will also contribute to enhancements at Col-Glen's home ground at Glendaruel, Argyll and Bute, located near our Ardtaraig freshwater hatchery. Neil Black, the Club Chairman, expressed his gratitude to Cooke Aquaculture for the tremendous support they've received this season. He said, "The funding has allowed us to purchase new team uniforms, upgrade our facilities with a new fence around the pitch, benefiting us and other community users, including our local primary school. It has also facilitated the rental of two minibuses for our longer northern trips, allowing the team to travel together, which boosts team spirit. A sponsorship of this magnitude is incredibly beneficial to our club and the community that supports us." On 2 March, at the opening game of the 2024 season, William Young, Business Support & Primary Processing Director at Cooke Scotland, was given a match shirt by the club in recognition of the partnership. He stated, "As a family-owned business, we are dedicated to strengthening communities, and we are delighted that the funding will contribute to the development of the Col-Glen team both on and off the field, as well as support local community members who use the club's facilities."
