Launch of Irish Nature Organic Steaks in Hong Kong by ABP
Today, ABP Food Group announced an expansion of its "Irish Nature Organic" beef selection, including striploin, ribeye, and T-bone steaks, in partnership with YATA, a supermarket chain based in Hong Kong. These premium beef offerings are now accessible across all 10 YATA stores in the region. This collaboration initially started in the fall of 2017. The expansion follows a series of successful marketing campaigns and tasting events, supported by Bord Bia, which have led to the "Irish Nature Organic" range being offered in 10 YATA locations. YATA, established in 1990, is a luxury Japanese retailer in Hong Kong, known for blending high-quality international food and lifestyle products to create a modern Japanese shopping experience. Mark Goodman, Managing Director of ABP International, shared his insights on the expansion: “We consider Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, as a crucial market for testing premium Irish beef in Asia. The consumers in Hong Kong are sophisticated and willing to invest in high-quality products. We are optimistic about gaining direct access to the Chinese market in 2018 and applying our insights from Hong Kong to this larger market when the opportunity presents itself.” ABP Food Group, a leading agribusiness in Europe and a prominent exporter of Irish beef, is committed to sustainability as a founding member of Origin Green. The company boasts a global presence, supplying over 200 Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide. Beyond its beef sector, ABP has diversified into renewable energy, pet food, and protein divisions. With a workforce of 10,000, ABP operates 48 manufacturing facilities across Ireland, the UK, and Denmark.
