JBS Biodiesel has been named the most efficient company in CBIOs emission for biodiesel.

JBS Biodiesel, the leading producer of biodiesel from beef tallow in Brazil, has been acknowledged as the most efficient company in the issuance of decarbonization credits (CBIOs) within the biodiesel sector. This recognition was awarded to the company on October 23rd in São Paulo, during the "DATAGRO Green Excellency Awards," an event organized by DATAGRO consulting to honor companies that excel in CBIO issuance. The award was accepted by Nelson Dalcanale, President of JBS New Businesses, and Alexandre Pereira, Commercial Director of JBS Biodiesel. This year, the efforts of 37 companies in the category "Most Efficient in CBIO Generation in Biodiesel" were evaluated, with the JBS Biodiesel facility in Lins, São Paulo, emerging as the winner. The selection process utilized the Benri Ratings company classification system, which identifies the most efficient plants in CBIO offering based on the amount of biodiesel required to produce one CBIO certificate. The most efficient plants are those that need to produce less to generate one credit. CBIOs symbolize each ton of CO2 emissions prevented through the production, distribution, and consumption of biodiesel. The President of JBS New Businesses emphasized that the concept of a circular economy is at the heart of JBS's business strategy, aiming to create value from the waste of its production processes while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of its operations. "For this reason, being recognized by DATAGRO is particularly significant for JBS Biodiesel, as it highlights that the company's investments in enhancing its processes have made the Lins unit exceptionally efficient," Dalcanale noted. JBS Biodiesel is currently the largest Brazilian producer of biodiesel from organic waste from cattle processing and used cooking oil. The company operates three plants located in Mafra (SC), Lins (SP), and Campo Verde (MT), with a total production capacity of 720 million liters of fuel, accounting for about 10% of the national consumption. Moreover, the company was the first biodiesel producer eligible to issue CBIOs under the Federal Government's RenovaBio program, aimed at decarbonizing the fuel sector.
