Board restructuring announced by ABP Food Group
ABP Food Group is delighted to announce the addition of three new non-executive directors to its Board. The organization would like to express its gratitude for the dedication, guidance, and leadership provided by the departing Board members Ron Bolger, Laurence P. Goodman, John Jackson, and Philip Morgan. John Moloney has been appointed to the Board as a director and the incoming Chairman. John brings a wealth of experience from his 33-year career in the food and agribusiness industry. He currently serves as a non-executive director and Chairman of DCC plc, and holds a position on the Board of Smurfit Kappa Group plc. Until January of this year, he completed a seven-year tenure as a non-executive director at Greencore plc. John previously served as the Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc from 2001 to 2013, where he occupied several senior management roles, including Chief Executive of Food Ingredients and Agribusiness. His early career included positions in the meat industry and the Department of Agriculture and Food. Tom Kirwan has been welcomed to the Board following his resignation as ABP UK Managing Director last October. Tom's career with ABP began in 1982 at ABP Cahir. In 1990, he transitioned to ABP UK, where he assumed various senior roles, including positions at Wessex Foods, the Convenience Division, and as Managing Director of ABP UK since 2009. Tom has played a crucial role in the continuous development and expansion of ABP UK. Fergal O’Dwyer, a chartered accountant and the Chief Financial Officer of DCC plc, is also joining the Board. Fergal will be leaving his executive position in July 2020, a role he has held since 1994. His extensive experience at DCC, a diversified sales, marketing, and distribution company, has equipped him with substantial expertise in financial management, treasury, strategic planning, corporate development, and acquisitions. Before his tenure at DCC, he was employed by KPMG and PwC, focusing on audit and corporate finance. Additionally, ABP Food Group is excited to welcome two more directors to its Board, Finbarr McDonnell and Mark Goodman, who are both executives within the group. Finbarr McDonnell has been with the group since the 1970s, holding various positions across the Irish Meat Division, including plant general manager and Managing Director of ABP Ireland and Poland. Since 2017, he has served as the Group Chief Operations Officer of ABP Food Group. Mark Goodman has been appointed to the Board after starting his career with ABP post-graduation. Over the past 15 years, Mark has worked in several ABP Ireland plants. Since 2011, he has been the Managing Director of ABP International, the group's international trading division. Mark has been pivotal in expanding ABP's markets in Asia. These new members will be joining the existing and continuing Board members, including Larry Goodman, who will maintain his position as Executive Chairman, and Frank Stephenson, the Group Chief Executive. Larry Goodman commented on the new appointments, stating, "The addition of these new members to the ABP Food Group Board will strengthen the Board's capacity and expertise, supporting the continuous development and strategic direction of the company."
