ABP unveils Farmers of the Future initiative at the Royal Highland Show
Demonstrating its dedication to advancing agriculture in Scotland, ABP UK unveiled its "Farmers of the Future" initiative at the Royal Highland Show this year. Fostering Future Generations The "Farmers of the Future" contest is designed for young individuals aged 12 to 16 who possess a strong passion for agriculture and envision a future for themselves in farming. The competition will award two young aspiring farmers with six calves each to nurture under the expert supervision of the Blade Farming team, accompanied by comprehensive veterinary care. This opportunity not only offers invaluable hands-on experience but also allows the winners to keep any profits made from selling the calves to ABP. Celebrating its 175th anniversary, the Royal Highland Show significantly contributes over £47 million to Scotland's economy and serves as an excellent platform for rural enterprises in the region. This makes it the perfect venue for ABP to introduce its new initiative to the Scottish community. Frank Ross, the General Manager at ABP Perth, stated: “The excitement this time of year brings is always immense for our company, and this year's Royal Highland Show was particularly special. The introduction of the Farmers of the Future program will immensely benefit young aspiring farmers in the locality, and we are thrilled to have launched it at such a key event in the farming calendar.”
