ABP UK honored as ‘Food Manufacture’ Company of the Year by industry peers
ABP UK has been honored with the esteemed title of Food Manufacture Company of the Year at the 2018 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards. The company, which operates from the Newry and Lurgan locations in Northern Ireland, received commendation from the judges, under the leadership of Iain Ferguson, Co-Chairman of the Food & Drink Sector Council, for its rigorous approach to combating modern slavery and its extensive efforts towards environmental sustainability. In addition to securing the top spot in the Meat, Poultry & Seafood and the Large Manufacturing Company categories, ABP UK was also recognized with a high commendation in the Training category. The judges awarded ABP UK the top honor, noting the company's exceptional commitment to addressing critical and relevant issues across the industry. Darren Jones, the Commercial Director of ABP UK, expressed his pleasure at receiving such a distinguished award, highlighting it as a testament to the innovative work being carried out across the company's UK operations. He pointed out initiatives ranging from the launch of the DC Super Hero range in collaboration with Warner Brothers to the strides made in their sustainability efforts, aiming to meet their climate and energy goals well before the 2020 deadline. Jones emphasized that this accolade serves as a tribute to the dedication of ABP colleagues towards delivering top-quality products and unparalleled customer service. The award ceremony was held in a Big Top-themed event at the Hilton on Park Lane in London, with television personality Gregg Wallace serving as the host.
