ABP receives the Carbon Trust Triple Award for consecutive years

For the second consecutive year, ABP Food Group has been honored with triple certification from the Carbon Trust for its initiatives in reducing water usage, carbon emissions, and waste, marking it as a leader in environmental sustainability efforts. This recognition places ABP among a select group of only five companies in the UK, including Marks & Spencer, Whitbread, PwC, and AkzoNobel UK, to have achieved all three accolades from the Carbon Trust in 2014. Over the last two years, ABP has implemented numerous sustainability projects across its operations in the UK and Ireland. John Durkan, ABP’s Group Sustainability and Environmental Manager, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “ABP has consistently shown a commitment to our environmental goals, and we are thrilled to once again receive triple certification. This reaffirmation from the Carbon Trust underscores ABP's leadership among Irish companies in proving that environmental sustainability and business success are mutually achievable.” ABP Food Group Achieves Environmental Milestones ABP's effective strategy has led to significant reductions in environmental impact across carbon, water, and waste targets. Michael Rea, the Carbon Trust's Chief Operating Officer, commented, “ABP Food Group stands out as both the first food processing and the first Irish company to be awarded triple certification by the Carbon Trust Standard, recognizing its continuous achievements in carbon and water reduction, as well as enhanced waste management. Since receiving the certification, the company has made ongoing progress in minimizing the environmental impact of its operations. I extend my congratulations to the entire team at ABP Food Group for securing triple recertification for an additional two years and encourage them to continue advancing the sustainability of their business in the years to come.”
