ABP invests £3m in its Perth facility

Today, ABP Food Group disclosed a £3 million investment in its Perth processing facility located in Scotland. This funding initiative, supported in part by the Scottish Government through the Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation grant scheme, marks the commencement of a significant upgrade aimed at elevating the site to a premier global standard. The upgrade will include the expansion of chilling and maturation capabilities, the introduction of cutting-edge production zones, and enhancements to employee facilities. Tom Kirwan, the Managing Director of ABP UK, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, "We are thrilled to advance with this development, which promises not only to bolster Scottish agriculture by offering a top-tier processing facility but also to generate added value beneficial for local employment and the broader economy." ABP Perth, a subsidiary of ABP Food Group, provides employment for 280 individuals and collaborates with 1,600 farmers throughout Scotland. Notably, ABP Food Group has distinguished itself as the first food processing entity globally to secure triple certification from the Carbon Trust Standard for the third time in a row. This prestigious independent certification recognizes organizations that demonstrate effective measures in reducing their environmental footprint, including measurable reductions in carbon emissions, water usage, and waste production.
