ABP initiates collaboration with Movement to Work

The ABP Food Group's facility in Armthorpe, Doncaster, has initiated a training initiative as a component of the nationwide Movement to Work project. This project is tailored to assist jobless individuals aged 18 to 24 by equipping them with necessary skills and experience for employment. A significant number of young adults face challenges in securing jobs due to a lack of skills, experience, or both. To address this, the program, lasting 8 weeks, aims to provide these individuals with essential workplace skills, including a 4-week practical training period. At the program's conclusion, participants are offered an interview, with those who are successful being presented with the opportunity for permanent positions. The theoretical part of the training takes place at the training partner's premises in the center of Doncaster, while the practical work experience is conducted at ABP's advanced production site in Armthorpe. On the 7th of April, a celebration was held for six trainees who successfully completed the initial course and secured permanent positions, with their new full-time roles commencing in the forthcoming weeks. Simon Young, the Business Development Manager at ABP Doncaster, expressed pride in the trainees' dedication and hard work over the 8 weeks, congratulating them on their well-deserved employment success. He also expressed enthusiasm about welcoming them to the team. ABP is preparing to launch another session of the Trainee Programme in May. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to their local Job Centre Plus for more information on how to participate.
