ABP celebrated at the SUSTAINABILITY LEADERS AWARDS
ABP secured a significant victory by clinching the top spot in the water management division during the Sustainable Leaders Awards held last evening in a grand ceremony in London. This accolade was presented to ABP as a nod to their exemplary initiatives in water recycling and conservation at their Sturminster Newton facility in Dorset, outshining formidable rivals including giants like Coca Cola and Aviva. Since acquiring the Dorset facility in 2009, the company has poured substantial resources into its upgrade. The focus of this extensive modernization effort has been on optimizing water usage, which featured a comprehensive project aimed at curtailing water consumption through meticulous monitoring and the deployment of a reverse osmosis system for the water's reuse and recycling. Tom Kirwan, the managing director of ABP UK, expressed his delight over this recognition, stating, “Securing this award is a remarkable accomplishment for both ABP UK and our Sturminster Newton operation. It’s always gratifying to be acknowledged independently, but winning this esteemed award is particularly meaningful as it places the sustainability efforts of the meat industry on par with those of other economic sectors. He added, “Being honored with this award for the second time within a month serves as a powerful validation of the dedication and hard work invested by our team in the modernization efforts at Sturminster Newton.”
