ABP and Macra na Feirme honor emerging leaders
The Macra Agricultural Skillnet celebrated its exceptional young leaders during the 2021 ABP National Leadership Awards, which took place on the evening of Thursday, 27 January 2022, and was shared on Facebook. The honorees included: - Emma Kate O Dwyer from Co Waterford - Sarah Kelly from Co Offaly - Caroline O Keeffe from the Avondhu Region, Co Cork Additionally, the competition highlighted other notable finalists: - Emma Hurley from the Avondhu Region, Co Cork - Fiona O Leary from the Carbery Region, Co Cork - Grainne McPhillips from Co Cavan The aim of this contest is to spotlight and commend the young leaders and volunteers within Macra, recognizing their significant contributions to the growth and development of their communities. "Annually, we honor those among our members who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities. This year, our six finalists embody the excellence of our membership. The ABP National Leadership Awards serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of our members. We are proud to have such outstanding individuals at every level of our organization," stated John Keane, National President of Macra na Feirme. "We are thrilled to support the National Leadership Awards once more. I want to acknowledge all of this year's finalists. Macra has consistently nurtured individuals who have made remarkable contributions at both the community and national levels. The awards ceremony was led by Matt O’Keeffe, editor of Irish Farmers Monthly and former President of Macra na Feirme, with Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD, serving as the special guest speaker.
