Young Scientists learn about the importance of farm safety

Last month we were out in force at this year’s Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in Dublin to spread the word on farm safety to youngsters from across Ireland. As well as launching a competition to students to highlight the importance of staying safe on farms, we also created an interactive Farm Safety Zone at the event.
The competition saw winners Katie Garrett and Jacinta Kelly from Jesus & Mary Secondary School, in County Mayo, scoop a prize for their project on ‘Farm Safe Code’, whilst our Farm Safety Zone proved to be a big hit with visitors to the event, who were entertained and educated by members of our Graduate Programme manning the zone. From a slurry smell zone to our selfie competition the exhibition engaged over 15,000 youngsters across the three days… not to mention the 145,000 people we reached via our social channels using the #safefarmsnow hashtag!
A big well done to our Graduates for a top job!
