Wayne-Sanderson Farms, the third largest poultry producer in the U.S., has announced new appointments to its senior leadership team. Bryan Miller, senior vice president of quality assurance and food safety, and David Malfitano, chief human resources officer, have retired after over 35 years of combined service. Dr. Juan “Juanfra” DeVillena has taken over from Miller, while Pamela Roach has succeeded Malfitano. DeVillena, who joined the company in 2004, has held various roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as vice president for quality assurance and food safety for the company’s fresh and prepared foods business units. He has a strong background in operations, quality assurance and food safety, and holds several degrees in food science and animal science. Roach, the new chief human resources officer, brings nearly 20 years of experience in human resources, most of which were spent leading various human resources functions for Cargill. She joined Wayne-Sanderson Farms from Climate Solutions, where she served as vice president of human resources. Wayne-Sanderson Farms was established last year following the merger of Wayne Farms and Sanderson Farms. The company is committed to maintaining the reputation both companies have built over decades of operation.
