Van Geloven Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Brands from Royaan

McCain Foods, the majority stakeholder of Dutch food company Van Geloven, has recently expanded its portfolio by purchasing several brands and facilities from snack manufacturer, Royaan. The acquisition includes brands such as Van Dobben and Kwekkeboom croquettes, along with foodservice-oriented brands like Laan, Willie Dokter, and KB. Additionally, Van Geloven will assume control of three production plants: a croquette factory in Oostzaan, north of Amsterdam; a cheese-based product facility in Wijk bij Duurstede; and a meatball production plant in Beuningen. Earlier this year, McCain Foods increased its stake in Van Geloven. Upon the announcement of the deal, McCain Foods CEO, Dirk van de Put, expressed his excitement about the potential for these leading brands and products to enhance their appetiser and snack food market position in the region.
