Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) has pledged to disclose its COVID-19 test results to ensure the safety of its employees and the community. The company recently conducted facility-wide testing at its beef and pork facility in Sherman, Texas. Out of the 1,604 employees tested, 326 were found to be positive. Those who tested positive have been given paid leave and will only be allowed to return to work once they meet the criteria set by the CDC and Tyson. Tom Brower, Senior Vice President of Health and Safety for Tyson Foods, emphasized the company's commitment to the safety and health of its employees. He also acknowledged the support provided by the Texas Division of Emergency Management in their prevention efforts. Tyson plans to disclose verified test results at other facilities where it is conducting wide-scale testing. This is part of the company's efforts to help communities better understand the virus and the preventive measures that can be taken to stop its spread. The company has implemented several protective measures in line with CDC and OSHA guidelines. These include daily symptom screenings, mandatory face masks, and social distancing measures. Tyson has also increased its short-term disability coverage to 90% of normal pay until June 30 to encourage employees to stay home when they are unwell.
