# Tyson Foods Poultry Plants Win 2020 Clean Water Awards

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) has acknowledged Tyson Foods' dedication to sustainability by awarding them the 2020 Clean Water Award. The award was given to Tyson Foods facilities in New Holland, Pennsylvania, and Robards, Kentucky, for their exceptional efforts in sustainable wastewater treatment and water reuse. Dean Banks, the president and incoming CEO of Tyson Foods, expressed the company's commitment to sustainable food production, emphasizing the importance of protecting and respecting natural resources. Kevin Igli, senior vice president of sustainability and chief environmental officer for Tyson Foods, praised the teams in New Holland and Robards for their efforts in water conservation. The award recipients were chosen by a committee of industry engineers, university personnel, and industry media. The awards are divided into two categories, full treatment and pretreatment, for outstanding wastewater treatment facilities. The New Holland facility was the 2020 Full Treatment Winner, having reduced water usage by 47.5 million gallons per year since 2015\. The Robards facility was the 2020 Pretreatment Winner, recognized for its efficient water treatment process and conservation efforts. The Tyson Foods facility in Berryville, Arkansas, received an Honorable Mention for the Pretreatment award. Greg Hinton, Rose Acre Farms, and USPOULTRY chairman, congratulated all the winners and applauded the quality of the applications received, reflecting the industry's commitment to wastewater treatment and conservation of natural resources.
