# Tyson Foods Expands Raised & Rooted Brand to Europe

Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) has announced the European debut of its plant-based protein brand, Raised & Rooted™, marking the brand's first venture outside the U.S. The company aims to become the most popular alternative protein brand globally. Brett Van de Bovenkamp, president of Tyson Foods Europe, expressed excitement about the launch in Europe, noting the increasing number of consumers adopting flexible diets. He believes Tyson's unique R&D capabilities, international presence, and infrastructure position it to become a leader in the European alternative protein market. The European Raised & Rooted range includes five plant-based products, which will be introduced through foodservice customers across Europe. The alternative protein segment, already embraced by major foodservice and retail operators, is a multi-billion-dollar category and continues to grow. Justin Whitmore, executive vice president of alternative protein at Tyson Foods, noted the rapid growth of the Raised & Rooted™ brand since its U.S. launch last year. The plant-based nuggets and tenders are now sold in 10,000 stores and online. Whitmore believes Tyson's expertise in this category, combined with its European innovation centers, positions it well to serve global markets. The plant-based products are produced in the Netherlands using locally sourced premium ingredients. They are non-GMO, non-palm oil, egg-free, and contain no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. The packaging is multilingual and made from 60 percent bio-based plastic material. The product launch includes Light & Crispy Battered Nuggets, Crunchy Breaded Nuggets, Garlic & Herb Dipping Fries, Hot & Spicy Popcorn, and Extra Crunchy Tortilla Nachos. All products are made with fava bean protein and are free from artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, soy, and palm oil. Raised & Rooted was created by Tyson Foods to provide delicious plant-based foods. The brand's products are sold at more than 10,000 retailer stores in the U.S. and online, and through retail and foodservice operators in Europe.
