Tyson Foods Contemplates Sale of its Pizza Crust Division

The primary focus of the company remains on its essential protein business. Springdale, Ark. - March 27, 2018 - Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) is considering selling its pizza crust division (TNT Crust) as part of its strategic emphasis on protein, the company announced today. "Our aim is to fully exploit the potential of our main business, and this divestment will facilitate growth in our protein brands," stated Sally Grimes, Group President of Prepared Foods. "We anticipate that a prospective buyer will appreciate the worth of the entire pizza crust business, including the TNT Crust brand, the facilities, and the skilled team members, and will be able to concentrate on its future." The proposed sale of TNT Crust encompasses the pizza crust business of partially baked crusts, flat breads, and self-rising crusts, as well as the company's two manufacturing facilities in Green Bay, Wis. The company will keep the tortilla production from the facilities for use in other areas of its business. Goldman Sachs is serving as Tyson Foods' financial advisor for the sale.
