# Tyson Foods CEO Commits to Enhancing Workplace Diversity and Inclusion

On July 25, 2017, in Springdale, Arkansas, Tom Hayes, the CEO and President of Tyson Foods, Inc., became a member of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™. This group consists of over 250 CEOs who are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within their respective companies. By agreeing to this commitment, Tyson Foods pledges to foster a work environment that values diverse viewpoints and experiences, and encourages employees to engage in discussions about diversity and inclusion. Hayes stated, “Our core values emphasize treating each other with respect and dignity. This pledge is a clear indication of our continuous dedication to nurturing a culture that values diversity and inclusion, which we believe strengthens our team.” Tim Ryan, the U.S. Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC and chair of the steering committee for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, expressed his pride in the growing support for the initiative across various companies and industries. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing diversity and inclusion in workplaces and communities. As part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Tyson Foods has established five Business Resource Groups (BRGs) including Leaders of Tomorrow (Young Professionals), Multicultural, Pride Network, Veteran’s, and Women’s BRGs. These groups contribute to business impact, community outreach, and employee support and development through various activities across the company’s locations. In 2016, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2017 Corporate Equality Index acknowledged Tyson Foods as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality. Tyson Foods, Inc.
