Tyson Foods and Save A Lot Donate Truckload of Protein to St. Louis Area Foodbank

Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) and Save A Lot, a leading U.S. discount grocery chain, have joined forces to donate 40,000 pounds of chicken to the St. Louis Area Foodbank. This donation will help combat hunger in Missouri and Illinois. The St. Louis Area Foodbank, which operates in 26 counties across Missouri and Illinois, will distribute the donated food through its network of over 500 hunger-relief programs and local agencies. These include soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and residential programs. Meredith Knopp, the President and CEO of the St. Louis Area Foodbank, expressed gratitude to Tyson Foods and Save A Lot for their ongoing support. She emphasized the importance of community collaboration in ensuring no one goes hungry. Save A Lot, a long-term partner of the St. Louis Area Foodbank, has donated nearly 400,000 pounds of food this year to support the organization's mission to create a stronger, healthier region where no one goes to bed hungry. Damir Kordic, Vice President of Operations for Save A Lot, highlighted the increasing issue of food insecurity across the country. He expressed the company's commitment to providing support and services to communities in need, including their home base of St. Louis. Tyson Foods has committed $13 million to support local communities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes $2 million in community grants and over $11 million worth of product donations since March 11.
