On June 4, 2015, in Richmond, Virginia, Tyson Foods, Inc. and Performance Foodservice - Virginia collaborated to further their mission to combat hunger. They donated 39,200 pounds of chicken to the Central Virginia Foodbank, a part of FeedMore, in Richmond, Virginia. The donation was received at the food bank at 8:00 a.m. today. Representatives from Tyson Foods, Performance Foodservice, and the CEO of FeedMore were on hand to assist in the delivery of the chicken. Jeff Wood, director of community relations, expressed pride in their contribution to organizations like FeedMore Food Bank, which tirelessly work to eradicate hunger. He acknowledged the complexity of food insecurity in Virginia and America, but emphasized that the solution begins with active involvement. He considered it an honor to contribute to the cause.
