The Official Gazette of Aragón has recently published a resolution by which the General Directorate for Public Health of the Government of Aragón has designated Litera Meat an official training entity authorised to teach ***hygiene and sanitary maintenance of high-risk installations to prevent Legionella***, a specialised course targeted at workers or unemployed people of the industrial sector, as well as at everyone interested in this activity.

Specialists from Litera Meat’s Quality & Food Safety Department will be in charge of developing the educational programme, lecturing on **existing legislation and regulations on the subject, as well as general and specific contents related to the importance of good sanitary conditions in preventing legionellosis**. The different topics will be taught using an **interactive teaching method, encouraging the participation of students and teamwork**. Cristina López, head of the training area of Litera Meat, points out the **importance of adopting an active methodology** in which the trainees can take part, ***“achieving a better academic performance and gaining a positive and satisfactory experience in the classroom.”*** The 25-hour course will be completed after having done the corresponding field training phase and taken a following exam to validate the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Trainees who finish the course and pass the exam will receive a **certification card issued by the Ministry of Health**.

**Promoting professional growth and human capital development is one of the aims of Litera Meat’s Training Centre**, to which external personnel interested in expanding their knowledge is also allowed. The exceptional situation stemming from COVID-19 has interrupted most of the training courses, which will be resumed soon. Despite this, **Litera Meat’s Training Centre has continued its educational work by carrying out informative one-day courses on COVID-19 targeted at all its personnel.**
