The Farewell of Luis Gaete, Contributor to the Meat Processing Area

After nearly 15 years at the company, Luis Gaete Neira, who worked in the Butchering Area, opted for retirement on December 31, 2018. Known to everyone at the Slaughterhouse Plant by his nickname "Pichiruchi" - a reference to a character from a popular TV soap opera - he acknowledged that the decision to leave the company was a tough one. He shared that his final day at Coexca S.A. was lengthy and emotionally charged, filled with mixed feelings. On one hand, he was happy to be concluding his professional career, but on the other, he felt a profound sadness about departing from the company where he had given his best efforts and made great friends and colleagues. "The last day was moving because my colleagues made me cry. It was a special, long day because I knew I was heading home and the farewell moment made me cry. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues and my bosses. It wasn't an easy decision, and until the last moment, they asked me not to retire. I felt a special affection towards me. However, my decision was based on the fact that I want to rest," he confessed. Indeed, as he recounts, due to life's circumstances, Luis Gaete had to enter the workforce at the age of 14 and hasn't stopped since. When reflecting on his time, Luis Gaete expresses his gratitude to all his colleagues and executives for the opportunity to have worked at Coexca S.A. for almost 15 years and to have been part of its growth. Looking back, he believes those were excellent years, very good ones, "because I was treated very well, I never received a harsh word. I feel nothing but gratitude and wish the best for the company. These years at Coexca S.A. were years of growth," he stated.
