Since its inception in 2013, approximately 400 children have benefited from the educational programs offered at the preschools, which include instruction in Thai language and culture, elementary mathematics, and social studies. On November 11, 2020, Thai Union Group PCL announced the inauguration of its fifth preschool located at Wat Samakee Sattharam School in Samut Sakhon. This initiative is aimed at equipping migrant workers' children for successful integration into the Thai educational framework, fulfilling the corporation's objective of establishing five such institutions by the year 2020\. The educational scheme has provided around 400 children with foundational knowledge in Thai language, culture, basic math, and social sciences since the program's launch in 2013\. Rittirong Boonmechote, President of Global Frozen and Related Units at Thai Union, emphasized the company's belief in education as a cornerstone for enhancing life quality. He highlighted the preschool project as a crucial element of Thai Union's sustainability agenda, SeaChange®, which seeks to positively impact the lives within their operational communities. The project's success is significantly attributed to its collaboration with the Labour Protection Network (LPN), which has been instrumental in liaising with migrant communities in Samut Sakhon, encouraging them to enroll their children in these preschools. Boonmechote praised the role of school partners in recognizing the transformative power of education in skill development and future preparedness for students. In addition to academic learning, Thai Union has introduced various experiential learning opportunities, including nutritional workshops, football clinics, mangrove conservation activities, and basic fire safety training, benefiting not only students at Thai Union preschools but also those in other Samut Sakhon schools. Sairung Phutha, Director of Watsamakkee Sattharam School, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Thai Union's preschool project, underscoring the importance of education for children of all nationalities. With the support from Thai Union, the school, which hosts 420 students—half of them Thai and half migrant children—has been able to provide equitable educational opportunities and facilities. Sompong Sakeaw, Founder and Director of LPN, reaffirmed the commitment to child welfare across all nationalities in public schools, aiming to enhance their lives through such initiatives. The collaboration between Thai Union and LPN since 2013 has led to the establishment of five preschools, including Wat Srisudtharam School, Wat Sirimongkul School, Wat Yaichomprasat School, Luangpatkosolupthum School, and Wat Samakkee Sattharam School, dedicated to the children of migrant workers. ### About Thai Union Group For over four decades, Thai Union Group PCL has stood at the forefront of the global seafood industry, delivering high-quality, nutritious, delicious, and innovative seafood products worldwide.
