# Thai Union and TMBThanachart Bank have entered into an agreement for a short-term loan linked to sustainability, valued at 2 billion Thai Baht.

This Blue Finance agreement is set to enhance the health of the world's oceans. BANGKOK – On March 1, 2022, Thai Union Group PCL entered into a Blue Finance loan agreement valued at THB 2 billion with TMBThanachart Bank Public Company Limited, marking a significant step in its commitment to financing that positively impacts the world's oceans. "Thai Union initiated the integration of Blue Finance in Thailand last year with the launch of sustainability-linked loans and bonds worth THB 27 billion. Our goal is to ensure that 75 percent of our long-term financing is through Blue Finance by 2025," stated Ludovic Garnier, the Group CFO of Thai Union. "Our continued move towards Blue Finance underscores Thai Union's dedication to innovation and sustainability, which are fundamental to our business ethos." Adopting Blue Finance aligns with Thai Union's mission of promoting 'Healthy Living, Healthy Oceans'. This financing approach includes sustainability objectives that serve the oceans, with interest rates tied to the achievement of specific performance indicators and sustainability goals. These rates are adjusted based on the company's success in meeting these sustainability objectives.
