Since the start of 2016, Cermaq has been consistently releasing quarterly sustainability results that focus on key indicators such as fish health, environmental and social issues in our operations. Wenche Grønbrekk, the Head of Sustainability and Risk at Cermaq, believes that a transparent company that reports its results also has a better understanding of risks and opportunities, a stronger foundation for discussions with stakeholders, and a better capacity to make advancements on significant topics. The fish health performance in the second quarter was strong with no antibiotics used in Norway, and substantial reductions in Chile and Canada compared to the same period last year. However, we are still striving for further reductions. There was no treatment against sea lice in Norway and a significant reduction in Chile and Canada compared to the same period last year. There were two incidents of fish escapes in Chile, where 47,500 fish escaped from our operations due to holes in the nets. The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) performance remains robust. Absence rates are low, ranging from 4.6% in Norway to 1% in Canada, and the lost time injury rate was 0 in Norway and Canada, and 6 in Chile.
