Selective Recall of Tyson® and Spare Time® Brand Chicken Strips

On March 21, 2019, in Springdale, Arkansas, Tyson Foods, Inc., announced a voluntary recall of about 69,093 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strip products. This recall includes 65,313 pounds of Tyson® Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips and Fully Cooked Crispy Chicken Strips, sold in 25-ounce bags to retailers, and 3,780 pounds of Spare Time® branded Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips, sold in 20-pound boxes to retailers and correctional institutions. The recall was initiated after two customers reported finding metal fragments in the products. Despite the issue being reported in only two packages, Tyson Foods is recalling these products as a precautionary measure. There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses related to the recalled product. The affected product was manufactured at a single facility on November 30, 2018. Each package is marked with the establishment code P7221 and a “use by” date of November 30, 2019. The following products are included in the recall: Brand: Tyson® Product: Buffalo Style Chicken Strips, Fully Cooked UPC: 023700014092 Size: 25-ounce bags Brand: Tyson® Product: Fully Cooked Crispy Chicken Strips-Chicken Breast Strip Fritters with Rib Meat UPC: 023700014108 Size: 25-ounce bags Brand: Spare Time® Product: Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips, Chicken Breast Strip Fritters with Rib Meat & Sauce UPC: 00031400076746 Size: 20-pound boxes Customers who have bought any of these products are advised to remove the UPC and date code from the packaging, dispose of the product, and call 1-866-886-8456. The recalled products were shipped to distribution centers in several states including Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
