Scott Stillwell Promoted to Senior Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Tyson Foods
On March 27, 2017, Tyson Foods, based in Springdale, Arkansas, declared the promotion of Dr. Scott Stillwell to the position of Senior Vice President, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA). In his new role, Dr. Stillwell will be responsible for guiding Tyson Foods' global FSQA discipline, ensuring the company's dedication to safety and quality across all its products. Noel White, Tyson Foods' Chief Operations Officer, expressed confidence in Scott's abilities, citing his extensive background in food safety and quality assurance, as well as his long tenure with the company. Dr. Stillwell began his journey with Tyson Foods in 1988 as a quality control microbiologist. His most recent role was Vice President, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, where he supported the company's poultry division. He steps into the shoes of Dr. Rick Roop, the outgoing Senior Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, who plans to retire after 31 years of service. Dr. Stillwell holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Heriot-Watt University and a Ph.D. in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
