# Sauzal secures water supply thanks to contributions from Coexca S.A.

The establishment and operation of six new wells, made possible through the contribution of Agrícola Coexca S.A., will ensure a stable water supply for the consumption of approximately 500 residents of the area, even during the summer months when demand significantly increases. This initiative has been a collaborative effort between the company and the Rural Drinking Water Cooperative of this dryland community. This effort is among several others that have been undertaken with the community of Sauzal, a town located about 12 kilometers from the San Agustín del Arbolillo Pig Farming Center, which is owned by the company in a rural area of San Javier. The recently completed project involves water extraction directly from the Sauzal stream bed, where the town's water processing plant currently operates and from which the local inhabitants are supplied. To discuss the impact of this initiative and to inspect the installation of the new wells on-site, leaders of the Sauzal Rural Drinking Water Cooperative met with the technical team responsible for the work and Carlos Montoya, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Agrícola Coexca S.A. "We are very pleased that these efforts have yielded such positive results. Water is a scarce resource in this area, and with this action, we ensure its supply," Montoya stated. Additionally, Adilio González, the president of the Sauzal Drinking Water Cooperative, expressed appreciation for the contributions from Agrícola Coexca S.A. As he noted during the meeting, this development is "very good news for the entire community" of Sauzal, providing "peace of mind."
