The Competition & Markets Authority has officially given the green light for Tulip Ltd's purchase of pig production company Easey Holdings Ltd, stating no further action is required. Tulip Ltd made the announcement of its acquisition in September of the current year and then proceeded to seek regulatory approval from the CMA. Easey Holdings Ltd is a family-run pig farming business that comprises four main sectors - breeding herds (sows), growing herds, a veterinary service, and a livestock transportation business. The purchase signifies an investment in UK farming and a commitment to the UK by Tulip Ltd's parent company, Danish Crown. Andrew Saunders, the Agriculture Director at Tulip Ltd's farming division, Tulip Agriculture, expressed his delight: - This is fantastic news for both Tulip and Easey Holdings, as well as our customers and consumers. Tulip is a true advocate for the UK pig farming industry, and Danish Crown remains fully dedicated to ongoing inward investment in the UK.
