Plumrose in the Running for Major Award
Plumrose USA, a leading food producer, is among the eight finalists for the Danish Transatlantic Company of the Year 2015. The company is in the running for the title alongside renowned companies such as Lundbeck, Terma, Novozymes, and Grundfos. The nomination of Plumrose USA is largely due to the strategic construction of its facility in Council Bluffs. Flemming N. Enevoldsen, CEO of DC Foods, expressed his pride in being among the final contenders for the title. He views this as a significant acknowledgment of the investments they have made in the US in recent years, which have positioned Plumrose USA among the top food producers in the country. Enevoldsen particularly highlighted the construction of a state-of-the-art facility in Council Bluffs, which was named the Sustainable Plant of the Year in the USA. Enevoldsen explained that building a factory that is advanced in terms of production and resource efficiency was a significant undertaking for the company. However, now that the plant is operational, it is one of the most modern and efficient facilities within the group. He added that if the Council Bluffs facility is recognized as enhancing Denmark-US relations, it would further boost the pride of their employees in both countries. The other companies vying for the Danish Transatlantic Company of the Year 2015 title are GN Resound, Siteimprove, Sitecore, Weibel, Rambøll, and Bavarian Nordic. The winner will be selected by a three-member jury and the award will be presented by the Danish Ambassador in the USA, Peter Taksøe Jensen, and the U.S. Ambassador in Denmark, J. Rufus Gifford, at a ceremony at Maersk's headquarters on March 17, 2015.
