The Tönnies food company, based in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, has launched an innovative digital 360-degree tour of its production facility, offering a transparent view into its operations. Previously, the company hosted numerous in-person tours for interested groups, providing insights into its slaughtering and butchering processes. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent safety measures, these tours were halted. To maintain transparency, Tönnies has now introduced an online tour that allows virtual visitors to explore the entire production process from anywhere. André Vielstädte, the Managing Director of Tönnies, emphasized the company's commitment to transparency, stating that they are proud of their production processes and have nothing to conceal. The digital tour showcases various stages of production, including animal delivery, stunning, slaughtering, cutting, and logistics, offering a comprehensive view of the operations that were previously shared with visitors in person. The tour was filmed using a 360-degree camera, enabling online visitors to look around in all directions for a fully immersive experience. A Tönnies employee guides the virtual tour, providing interesting insights into the company and its production areas. This initiative positions Tönnies as a pioneer in the industry, aiming to enhance consumer knowledge about food production. To experience the digital plant tour, interested individuals can visit the Tönnies website.
