McCain Foods USA Expands Operations in Burley, Idaho

McCain Foods USA, based in Lisle, Illinois, has announced plans to increase its production capabilities for frozen french fries in North America. The expansion will take place at the company's existing facility in Burley, Idaho, where it has been operating for two decades. The expansion will be supported by capital investments exceeding $200 million, aimed at enhancing its cutting-edge production facility. The company anticipates that the expansion will result in the creation of over 180 new jobs in Burley. Jeff DeLapp, the Regional President for North America, stated that McCain has been a part of the Burley community since the 1960s. He added that this investment would not only create more employment opportunities but also strengthen the company's ongoing partnerships with local potato growers. It will also increase the company's capacity to meet the growing demand for its products. This announcement follows McCain's previous expansion plans, including increasing its specialty potato capacity in Plover, Wisconsin, and a recent investment of $65 million in its facility in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada.
