McCain Foods Increases Ownership Stake in Van Geloven B.V
McCain Foods Limited and TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P., based in Tilburg, Netherlands, have announced their agreement to sell a majority stake in Van Geloven to McCain. Post-transaction, TowerBrook will retain a stake in the business and continue to support Van Geloven's growth plans. The deal will provide Van Geloven with access to McCain's extensive European network, supporting its goal of becoming a leading frozen snack company in Europe. Van Geloven, based in Tilburg, offers a wide variety of frozen convenience snacks and foods under various brands, including the popular Mora brand, the artisanal ragout brand "the Bourgondiër", satay specialist Hebro, and foodservice specialty brands Ad van Geloven, van Lieshout & Welten. It also has private label contracts with major retail and foodservice clients. Van Geloven has been a market leader, meeting consumer needs and supporting its clients with high-quality products. It has created innovative new snacks catering to different consumer tastes and preparation methods. The Mora brand has seen a 34% growth in retail since 2010, driven by successful renovations and innovations in appetizers and oven products. In 2015, the company reported sales of €197m. McCain Foods is a family-owned company and a global leader in the frozen food industry. It is the world's largest producer of frozen potato products, with 41 production facilities worldwide. Its products are used in restaurants and sold in retail stores in over 160 countries.
