**Litera Meat has taken part in a very innovative research project developed by the pharmaceutical laboratory for animal health Hipra.** During the implementation of the project last October and November, **Litera Meat provided 2,000 images of slaughtered pigs’ lungs** for the set-up of the new diagnostic imaging system launched by Hipra with the registered name **Al Diagnos®**, which enables detection of injuries caused by porcine enzootic pneumonia recently.

Through the new **Al Diagnos®** system **—**a special service provided by Hipra—, it is possible to detect and analyse, with only an image of the lungs, the various lobes that conform them and the injuries in each of them by using artificial intelligence.

Once a batch has been analysed, the **Al Diagnos®** system is able to extrapolate the global results for said batch, showing the percentage of lungs affected by enzootic pneumonia, the average level of damage or the injury rate. This data will enable us to **calculate the economic impact this disease is having on the stock breeding farm of origin**. This system has been trained using more than 6,000 images from **slaughterhouses around the world and validated by different experts from the most renowned universities in matters of pork production**.

**Lung examination at the slaughterhouse is the most reliable diagnostic system to assess the impact of the porcine enzootic pneumonia** caused by *Mycoplasma Hyopneumoniae* on the breeding farms. The new **Al Diagnos®** system for lung analysis comes hand in hand with the **new vaccine** ***Mhyosphere® PCV ID* developed by Hipra, the new all-in-one intradermic needleless injection against *Mycoplasma Hyopneumoniae* and PCV2.**
