No Carbon, a subsidiary of JBS specializing in the rental of fully electric vehicles, has entered into a partnership with EZVolt, an electromobility startup within Vibra's renewable energy portfolio, to provide charging stations for its fleet of trucks. In a span of three months, over 100 chargers have been installed, with an additional 30 set to be in place by year's end, bringing the total to 130 charging stations. So far, EZVolt has deployed its charging solutions across 11 JBS distribution centers in ten states. JBS, one of the world's largest food companies, had previously engaged Vibra for the B2B supply of lubricants and diesel and has now expanded its relationship to include EZVolt's services in its energy transition efforts. Launched in 2022, No Carbon is part of JBS New Businesses and currently operates a fleet of 260 electric refrigerated trucks. This fleet is tasked with distributing products from brands such as Friboi, Seara, and Swift across urban centers nationwide. "Our aim is to continue expanding our sustainable, low-carbon logistics solutions, which is why we're investing in the growth of our charging network for trucks," stated Armando Volpe, No Carbon's Commercial Director at JBS. To support No Carbon's electric trucks, EZVolt has set up chargers at Seara and Friboi distribution centers in locations including Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Pará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Pernambuco, Bahia, the Federal District, and São Paulo. In these areas, No Carbon's fleet also benefits from a network of ultra-fast charging hubs, capable of recharging a vehicle's battery in up to an hour, to meet any mid-route charging needs. "We are advancing in the services we provide to our clients. Our goal is to assist them in fulfilling their commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We strive to serve them in the best way possible every day, and the partnership between EZVolt and JBS is evidence that we're on the right track," said Bernardo Winik, Vibra's Vice President of B2B. "Moreover, EZVolt's prior experience with large electric fleets and its national presence were decisive factors in JBS's choice," he added. Since its inception in 2022, No Carbon's trucks have traveled approximately 3.4 million kilometers delivering JBS products, equivalent to over 80 circumnavigations of the globe. This has prevented the emission of about 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), akin to planting 270,200 trees, thus emphasizing the fleet's sustainable footprint. The collaboration between JBS and EzVolt follows a "charge as a service" model, where the startup supports the company through all stages of fleet migration, from feasibility studies to the delivery of charging equipment. EZVolt bears the cost of acquiring and installing the equipment and infrastructure and also provides a charging management software, enabling No Carbon to access comprehensive energy consumption reports for its vehicles. All JBS charging hubs are monitored around the clock by an EZVolt control center, ensuring the reliability of the charging service, which operates at a 97% uptime. "Our decision to invest our own resources and cover the cost of deploying the charging network shows our commitment to a new business culture where companies prefer quality services over the complexities of purchasing and managing equipment in-house," stated Gustavo Tannure, CEO of EZVolt.
