In a further expansion of its social responsibility initiative, "Fazer o Bem Faz Bem," JBS has announced the donation of 850 hospital equipment units, facilitating the opening of new ICU beds in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. The allocation of these resources to local municipalities, based on their critical needs, will be managed by the state health departments. The donation includes 117 ventilators, 117 ICU beds, 117 vital signs monitors, 468 infusion pumps, and 39 defibrillators. Since January, the company has contributed 970 hospital equipment items to aid in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, with donations including 50 ventilators to Santa Catarina, 10 to Paraná, and 10 to Rio Grande do Sul, as well as contributions to Minas Gerais and São Paulo. Through its "Fazer o Bem Faz Bem" program, JBS has also provided over 1 million Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) items to the Federal District, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, and Santa Catarina. These donations include essential items for frontline workers battling the coronavirus, such as N95 masks, gloves, gowns, and waterproof suits. In 2021, JBS's efforts also included donating 400 oxygen cylinders to Amazonas and funding two months of medical services in Paraisópolis, São Paulo. The "Fazer o Bem Faz Bem" program has allocated R$ 400 million towards combating the pandemic in Brazil, reaching over 300 cities across all federal units and benefiting 77 million people.
