# Great American Snacks Shuts Down Monroe Plant in North Carolina

Great American Snacks, Inc., a branch of McCain Foods USA, Inc., based in Nampa, Idaho, has declared its intention to shut down its manufacturing facility in Monroe, North Carolina. The decision is due to the outdated structure of the building and infrastructural issues. Jeff DeLapp, President, North America, McCain Foods Limited, expressed regret over the decision, acknowledging the impact on jobs. He assured that the company would provide fair treatment to all employees, offering severance packages and outplacement assistance to those affected. The production currently taking place at the Monroe facility will be transferred to other sites within the Great American Snacks distribution network. This move aims to maintain a steady supply for the company's clientele and potentially improve the company's offerings.
