Full Ownership of Team Ugglarp by Danish Crown
On the 1st of January 2013, Danish Crown will be taking over all shares in Team Ugglarp. Danish Crown's slaughterhouse operations in Sweden include a subsidiary, Team Ugglarp, which operates the country's second-largest cattle slaughterhouse in Hörby, Skåne, in addition to the parent company, KLS Ugglarps AB. Previously, the ownership of Team Ugglarp was split between the Danish Crown group, holding a 51 per cent stake, and the company's CEO and former owner, Tommy Olsson, who held a 49 per cent stake. However, starting from the 1st of January 2013, Danish Crown will assume full ownership of all shares in the company, in line with the agreements made during the majority takeover in 2008. Tommy Olsson, aged 62, has chosen to retire coinciding with this change in ownership. The company will now be managed by the same team as its parent company, KLS Ugglarps AB, with Johan Andersson taking over as CEO. The Danish Crown group is the second-largest pig and cattle slaughterhouse business in Sweden and also operates retail packing and meat processing facilities in the country.
