Friland Names New Chief Executive Officer

On March 15, 2013, in Randers, Friland, a subsidiary of Danish Crowns, announced the appointment of Henrik Biilmann as their new CEO. Biilmann, previously the innovation director at Arla Food, brings with him 17 years of experience in sales, marketing, and concept development within the food industry. His expertise in organic food products will be a significant part of his new role. The 42-year-old new CEO of Friland holds a cand. merc. degree in sales and resides in Aarhus. In his leisure time, he enjoys yacht racing and has co-authored a sailing handbook titled "Vindermanual – Strategi og taktik" (Winner manual - Strategies and tactics). Bjarne Møller, the chairman of Friland's Board, expressed his anticipation for the collaboration with Biilmann. Møller stated that the selection committee had a challenging task choosing from numerous highly qualified candidates. However, he believes that in Biilmann, they have found a leader who can uphold Friland's values and contribute to its future growth and innovation. Biilmann will be succeeding Karsten Dejbjerg Kristensen as CEO. Kristensen, a co-founder of Friland in 1992, has served as the company's CEO since its inception. However, he announced last fall that he was looking for new opportunities.
