# First Sustainability Summit held by ABP Food Group

Last week marked the premiere of ABP Food Group's "Stand Up For Sustainability" event in Birmingham, gathering participants from all of its Irish and UK processing facilities. The event aimed to highlight and exchange sustainable practices within ABP Food Group, striving for enhanced sustainability throughout the organization. The event was highly successful, attracting over 100 employees. ABP Food Group has been acknowledged as a frontrunner in sustainability, having been recently honored with the distinguished Quadruple Certification by the Carbon Trust. The recent upgrade of ABP Ellesmere incorporated cutting-edge technologies such as a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engine powered by onsite-produced tallow and a water treatment facility, among others. Dean Holroyd, the Technical and Sustainability Director at ABP Food Group, stated, "While our primary focus and significant investments are crucial to our 'Doing More With Less' strategy, fostering and promoting ideas from our various locations is just as essential to our commitment to sustainability."
