On 4th December 2015, Danish Crown announced the appointment of Erik Eisenberg, 56, as the new Head of Communication. Eisenberg, who will officially assume the role on 1st January 2016, will also hold the formal title of Vice President Group Communications. Eisenberg brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held a similar position at APM Terminals, a successful and rapidly growing business unit within the Mærsk group. Based in The Hague, Netherlands, Eisenberg was responsible for all aspects of the international port operator’s internal and external communication and branding activities since 2011\. Prior to this, he managed the internal and external communication for Dansk Supermarked from 2006\. Eisenberg began his career as a journalist, working for various Danish media outlets including Jyllands-Posten, TV2, Børsens Nyhedsmagasin and Ekstra Bladet, where he served as a news editor and chief sub-editor. He is a two-time recipient of the Cavling awards, the most prestigious Danish media award. Eisenberg will now oversee communication for Danish Crown, a global company with operations in 136 countries, 8000 cooperative members, 26,000 employees and a turnover of approximately DKK 59 billion in 2014/15\. Eisenberg expressed his excitement about his new role, stating that he is looking forward to working closely with the new CEO, employees and owners to further develop Danish Crown’s reputation and brand. Jais Valeur, a representative from Danish Crown, expressed confidence in Eisenberg's ability to enhance the company's role and contribution in the food industry. Eisenberg, who is married with two grown children, resides in Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark. He succeeds Anne Villemoes, Danish Crown’s long-serving Head of Communication, who ended her tenure on 1st December after 10 years in the position to establish her own business as an independent consultant and advisor.
