DAT-Schaub Secures Full Ownership of Successful US Firm

The financial reports of Danish Crown since 2015 have consistently shown the steady success of its subsidiary, DAT-Schaub. The company, which processes hog casings for food and pharmaceutical raw materials, has seen its global earnings increase more than threefold since 2015. A significant contributor to this success has been the US market, where DCW Casing LLC has seen robust growth and earnings in the natural casing sector. Over the years, DCW Casing LLC has become an essential component of DAT-Schaub. The shareholders have reached a consensus that it is time for DAT-Schaub to assume full ownership of DCW Casing LLC. Jan Roelsgaard, CEO of DAT-Schaub, stated, "We have a great working relationship with the other shareholders, who are also part of the DCW Casing management team. From the outset, the plan was for DAT-Schaub to eventually become the sole owner of the company." He added, "We have made significant progress together and agree that the best way to continue this positive trend is for DAT-Schaub to become the sole owner. I am pleased that the previous shareholders, Mike, Ricky, and David, will remain with the company and continue to drive its growth." David Gordon, Executive Vice President Sales, said, "After three decades in this industry and a strong 12-year partnership with DAT-Schaub, we are eager to contribute to the next phase of our journey. The DCW Casing team is dedicated to strengthening the relationships we have established with our suppliers and customers." DCW Casing LLC was established in the fall of 2012 as a result of a merger between DAT-Schaub, Casing Associates LCC, and Wolfson Casing. Prior to the merger, DAT-Schaub co-owned Casing Associates LCC and was instrumental in the merger. Since 2012, the company has focused on expanding its raw material supplies through contracts with slaughterhouses across the US, from which DCW Casing LLC purchases hog casing raw materials. The company has also expanded its US business in sheep casings, artificial casings, and heparin production. Roelsgaard added, "We have no plans to change the company's strategy or management, as it has proven successful over the years. We aim to remain the preferred partner for the US slaughterhouses from which we purchase casings and for the thousands of sausage producers we supply in the US and overseas." Jais Valeur, Group CEO of Danish Crown, said, "There is still potential for consolidation in this global industry. We are ready to make acquisitions if the right opportunities arise, but we also have good prospects for organic growth, so DAT-Schaub will focus on these opportunities."
